History[]
Became an inn about 1860. Owned/operated by Kidd and Hotblack from 1871 to 1926, and Tamplins from 1926 until it was removed with adjoining properties in 1935.[1][2]
In 1864 the Landlord was George Markwick,[3] in 1878 it was Mrs Sarah Pescott,[4] and in 1913 it was Thomas Wadey.[5]
